Aldi Kurniawan
A frontend engineer from Indonesia, turning designs into clean, accessible, and performant web apps — and writing about it along the way.
The story
I started out drawn to the moment a rough idea becomes something people can actually use. That pull led me to the frontend — the layer where design, logic, and performance meet in the browser. Since then I've spent my time building web apps with React and Next.js, obsessing over the details most users never notice but always feel.
The best interfaces are the ones people don't notice — fast, clear, and out of the way.
I care about the full journey — from the first sketch to the deployed app — but I'm happiest in the space between design and engineering: turning a design system into maintainable, accessible components, and shipping them without breaking the experience for anyone.
When I'm not building, I'm usually reading about web performance, tinkering with this site, or writing short notes about things I've just learned.

Web performance, animation, and design systems at the edge.
Values
Clarity first
Interfaces should explain themselves. If a visitor has to think twice about what a screen is asking, the design has failed.
Performance is a feature
A fast page respects the person on the other end. I watch bundle size and rendering cost from day one, not as an afterthought.
Design for everyone
Keyboard navigation, contrast, and reduced motion aren't extras — they're the baseline of professional frontend work.
Craft in the details
Spacing, motion, error states — the last 10% is what makes software feel considered. I sweat it so the product doesn't have to.
